Guest Bathroom Reveal

Please Note: This post contains affiliate links.

I have waited so long to finish this post. Mostly because it took me a year to find the perfect mirror, thank you Marshalls, and another few months to figure out what type of shelves I wanted to do. I am thrilled with how it turned out, especially for a small space. It feels welcoming and different than anyone’s bathroom I have been in. Keep reading for a breakdown of how I created this space!

The Tile

Shower Surround:

From the conception of this guest bathroom I knew I wanted to use a glass tile. Even then I was caught off guard when our contractor got to the bathroom early, and said that if I got the tiles he could do the shower surround tomorrow.

Tomorrow! A word we never heard throughout our 9 month construction “adventure”.

In order to jump on this, I decided that I would try to find something in stock. This meant passing on our favorite tile store/family discount and going to Lowes. As a result, these glass tiles from Lowes ended up costing up more than the gorgeous high-end marble ones we chose for our master! I supposed having our tiles installed next day was worth it.

Subway: Anatolia Tile, Glass Subway Tile, Studio White, 3×6 ($0.49/Tile, $14.70/30-Count Box)

Mosaic: GBI Tile & Stone, Glass Mosaic Subway Tile, Gemstone White ($13.48/Sheet)

Flooring:

This tile by Florida Tile has been very popular in our family! I used it (in a different size/color) in our Master Bathroom, and both my mother and sister have used it in a variety of colors and sizes in their own homes! It has a perfect texture, without looking like it is trying to be wood. It is part of the Tides Collection, and can be viewed here.

The Fixtures

Here is a look at all the fixtures we chose, click the links to view product information!

Shower Fixtures

What goes better with crisp glass than bright, shiny, chrome fixtures. These are part of the Moen Banbury Collection. ($118.99)

The Sink

It took a bit of searching to find a vessel sink that met my needs:

  • Plain white ceramic
  • Oval shaped
  • Roughly 15″ length, 12″ width, and around 5″ height

Thankfully Amazon had one that was perfect, well rated, and could be delivered quickly! You can view it here. ($59.99)

The Faucet

While it may be a different brand, its chrome finish matches the fixtures in the shower. This Glacier Bay faucet ($68.50) adds a nice modern touch that compliments the more farmhouse style characteristics of the bathroom.

The Toilet

This is my favorite toilet. If it is possible to have such a thing? We have used this one in two of our three bathrooms, and would have used it in our Master Bathroom except it has a standard rough-in measurement of 12′ and that bathroom required a 10″ rough-in. i.e. The distance from the wall to the center of the outlet pipe did not fit.

This is from the Kohler Memoirs Collection. ($448.99)

The Vanity

You can check out my Building a Vessel Sink Vanity tutorial for a complete rundown of how I built this custom vanity.

I used Sherwin Williams “Peppercorn” in a high gloss finish to ensure that it was easy to clean!

The Shelves

These shelves were the finishing touch I had been needing in our guest bathroom. You can read more about how I built them, here.

The Paint

When we first finished the walls, before anything was even in the bathroom, I picked out this seemingly pretty blue. I can’t say I have ever hated a color that I picked out, so this was a first. I am not exaggerating when I say it was horrendous. Cotton Candy Blue. Thankfully Sherwin Williams replaced it with a much better color! Light French Gray. It goes beautifully with all the other colors in our house, which you can read about in my Open Concept Color Palette!

The Complete Look

I had to stand in the shower to take this one! Even then it doesn’t quite fit in the whole frame, but you get the idea πŸ™‚
